The design of the Lahofer Winery in the Czech municipality of Dobšice has two influences: local architecture and the surrounding landscape. Thus architects Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof set the tasting room beneath ribbed concrete arches reminiscent of a traditional vaulted wine cellar.
The structure supports an undulating roof that rises, hill-like, from the ground, forming an outdoor amphitheatre where patrons can sit and drink. Inside, on the exposed ceiling between the ribs, artist Patrik Hábl drew an abstract mural in reds, blacks and browns to evoke the rich Moravian soil.
Team: Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof with Adam Jung, Lenka Vořechovská, Martin Holý, Vojtěch Kouřil, Ondřej Mundl, Zuzana Záthurecká, Zuzana Pelikánová, Victor Cojocaru, Laura Emilija Druktenytė, Gabriela Volákova and Zuzana Lisoňová
