After many decades of largely industrial use, South Brooklyn’s waterfront is now ready to double as a vibrant leisure destination — without putting an end to any of the buzzing manufacturing activity still underway at Brooklyn Army Terminal. By reconfiguring circulation routes across the 39-hectare warehouse complex, WXY identified new opportunities for landscaped pedestrian plazas and pathways. To bring work and play into even closer dialogue, each of these areas is animated by bold yellow wayfinding stripes and other fun visual flourishes adapted from common logistics management graphics.
