Two monumental columns standing in the centre of a cinema lobby presented One Plus Partnership with an immovable challenge. Their response: embrace them. From structural constraint emerged an indoor forest. Over a hundred texture studies shaped each 12-sided trunk, every surface bearing its own imperfections and soul, leaning and crossing in a layered choreography of form. Lighting, fully concealed within tectonic joints, was meticulously rehearsed until every beam carved depth like moonlight filtering through branches. Circular light boxes continue the forest rhythm into the auditoriums. Delivered in nine months on a controlled budget, the result is atmospheric, enigmatic and quietly alive, like stepping into the first frame of a film.
