AZ Awards 2022 Finalist: Mitto by Ke Sun

Managing menstrual hygiene — particularly during a public health emergency — presents significant challenges for blind people. The Mitto kit would consist of tampons, a mitt, a portable pouch and an outer box, all of which optimize the experience of tampon size identification, changing and disposal. In addition to Braille printed on all sides of the packaging, Mitto would feature QR codes and textured stickers to assist users who can’t read Braille. And, because not every public toilet has an accessible garbage bin, the mitt transforms into a pouch that can be sealed and disposed of later.
