A walk-up coffee bar integrated into its minimalist black and stainless-steel facade immediately establishes this design agency headquarters as a 21st-century space, but details within pay subtle homage to its 20th-century identity as a cotton mill. Structured Narrative’s interior is all clean lines and okoume hardwood veneers, with vast expanses of pale walls, mid-century furniture and large rice-paper pendant lights. Despite all the sleek modern design on display, the original pitched roof and high steel windows have been preserved, flooding the space with diffuse light and creating a subtle dialogue between old and new.
