The Durham Meadoway Visioning Study imagines a 30-kilometre linear park connecting the Ontario municipalities of Pickering and Oshawa. Where might anyone get the property for such an ambitious endeavour? It’s already there, beneath a hydroelectric corridor. The architects propose activating this space with a pathway that connects to local trails and parks, then filling in the remaining area with low-lying, pollinator-friendly plants. If built, the Meadoway would link up to a similar corridor in the Toronto area, providing unbroken access to the heart of downtown.

Team: Gerardo Paez, Ana Espinoza, Sam Dufaux, Mike Hudson, Michael Monaghan, Diana Pop, Ana Paula Garcia.
