This collection of lighting fixtures lives at the intersection of ancient crafts and modern technology. Created by Federico Stefanovich, a rising star of Mexico City’s design scene, the ceiling lamps, wall sconces, floor lamps and table lamps of Folia are conceived as 3D models before being meticulously handcrafted out of carved wood, sand-cast bronze and aged brass. The innate imperfections of these materials root them firmly in the living world, belying the precise engineering that constructed them. Inspired by the intricate forms of mushrooms, leaves and branches, the shapes of the fixtures — including a wood and brass lampshade counterbalanced atop a wood or brass pedestal — create gentle contrasts of texture, light and shadow.
