The product of classical inspiration and clever material tinkering, Pola uses the age-old form of a structural arch as a starting point. Toronto design firm Anony experimented with various materials and fabrication techniques before landing on a winning combination — in this case, an extruded aluminum pipe cut in half lengthwise. Each piece is built around a concealed LED strip that points inward, turning each frame into a diffuser. The result is a collection of floor lamps, table lamps, sconces, pendants and linear clusters that are as versatile and functional — not to mention aesthetically pleasing — as the classical arches that inspired them.
