A park bench is a place to sit, but it’s also a powerful tool for connection. A response to the disappearance that park staple and other public seating spaces, the Palaver Bench is designed to bring people together and foster communal experiences through its simple construction and open-circle form.
Composed of a series of wooden vertebrae CNC-machined from offcuts, it can be installed without a foundation to make it relatively affordable and replicable. With its undulating shape and ergonomic surface, the Palaver Bench encourages users to sit facing either inward or outward, and to engage with each other and the surrounding environment.
