The founder and creative director of internationally recognized Alison Brooks Architects was born and educated in Canada, moved to London in 1987 and established her practice in 1996. With built works ranging from high-density urban design and housing to cultural buildings and private homes, she is the only U.K. architect to have received the profession’s four most prestigious awards: the RIBA Stirling Prize, RIBA House of the Year, Manser Medal and Stephen Lawrence Prize. Her approach reflects her commitment to the unique histories, communities and landscapes in which she works. Conceptual rigour, sculptural quality and ingenious detailing are her practice trademark.
